Già nel 1989 Marcotesta Real Estate quartet è
stata probabilmente tra la primissime formazioni in Italia a fondere la
complessità dell'improvvisazione jazz al secco pulsare del funk più urbano:
nasceva parallelamente in Europa l'Acid Jazz... ma la
formazione coniugava in quest'esperienza non solo la pulsante ritmica del
groove soul, r'n'b, funky ma melodie raffinate ed armonie jazzistiche,
tentando di avvicinare ad un genere considerato (a torto) talvolta freddo
perché "colto" anche un pubblico più vasto, grazie ad un impatto
emotivo, ma che non trascurasse tuttavia la qualità e la ricerca. Così
classici del jazz vennero reinventati dal vocalist con arrangiamenti
originali, insieme ad alcuni temi immortali della black music. Il progetto <Real Estate>
nel corso
del tempo muta intenti e partecipanti, fino a tornare attivo come trio (od
eventualmente come duo), complice il successo (a suo tempo quindi già lambito
e previsto) del fenomeno lounge music, da sempre parte della
componente più ironica e di frizzante entertainment del cantante. Aperitivi,
cene, convention, party di ogni tipo conditi da una cocktail music da
perfetta colonna sonora per un Martini extra dry, per un party esclusivo the Real Estate : ·

In the 1989 Marcotesta Real Estate quartet has been probably the first
band in Italy to fuse the complexity of the jazz improvisation to the dry
beat of the urban funk: the Acid Jazz was born all over Europe... but
the line up conjugated in this experience not only the rhythm push-button of
the groove soul, r' n' b, funky but refined melodies and jazz harmonies,
trying to approach to a large public a gender considered (twisted) sometimes too cold because
"high cultural", passing through an emotional impact, but that it
did not neglect however the quality and the research. Therefore classics of
the jazz came reinvented by the vocalist with original arrangements, with to
some immortal themes of the black music The project
<Real Estate> change,
in the course of the time, attempts and participants, until returning active
as a trio (or also as a duo), accomplice the success
(opportunely already grazing and previewed) of the lounge music issue,
always part of the ironic and brilliant entertainment side of the singer.
Aperitifs, suppers, convention, party of every type flavoured by a cocktail
music that become a perfect soundtrack for a Martini extra dry, for an
exclusive party. Voice, keyboards, tenor sax and trumpet revisit in a
lightness of style and foaming samplings this repertoire of international
standards with the class of the lightness. And with an amusing appendix new
edition of Italian typical songs the Real Estate are: ·
