La forza espressiva, dinamica quanto il suono ricco, fanno di Marco Testa una delle rari voci maschili del jazz in italia: ha studiato canto e tecnica vocale, armonia, contrappunto, pianoforte complementare, musica d’insieme; vanta una lunga esperienza professionale concertistica in Italia e all’estero, quattro dischi pubblicati ed una proficua collaborazione con numerosi altri musicisti e big bands. Ha formato (e sciolto) svariate formazioni di cui è stato arrangiatore oltreché cantante solista. Interpreta un repertorio molto vasto, dal jazz moderno allo swing, dalla bossa nova alla canzone d’autore e canta in inglese, francese, spagnolo, portoghese. Ha svolto inoltre un intensa attività didattica in numerose scuole di musica, contribuendo a formare alcuni eccellenti vocalist.

Marco Testa is a one of the rare male jazz singers in Europe, well-known for his particulary timbre between baritone warmth and tenor high notes, his elegant way of dealing with a ballad as the way he maintains a beautiful easy swing singin’ modern or mainstream jazz, but most of all his intense musicality and dramatic interpretation of many different styles, from bebop scat to bossanova, and his entertainer qualities when performing on stage. He studied singing and vocal technique, harmony, counterpoint in Italy, New York and Paris; has a long professional experience and many gigs in clubs all over Europe; recorded his first album dedicated to Bill Evans, and the last live cd, with his original arrangements of Monk, Corea, Coltrane classics and italian and brazil standards too
